Fri Mar 28 2008: A Hawaiian Wedding

Today's the big day! We're helping Lisa and Jerome get married. Seems like every motorcycle trip, we have to see someone get married. It's become sort of a ritual now. If you are getting married in an exotic place, let us know and we'll bring our bikes down to see you get hitched. The more exotic, the better! And you even get a nifty web-site with gratuitous pictures of us interspersed throughout as a nifty memento for inviting us to your special day! :)

Jer and I have a pre-wedding breakfast together while the girls get all done up for the occasion. Then Jer and I go back to the room and watch TV for a couple of hours while the girls still get all done up for the occasion. Then Jer and I fall asleep while the girls are still getting done up for the occasion.

Da man! We're actually still waiting for the girls, who are still getting done up for the occasion...

Neda "getting ready" for the occasion. More like "making the boys wait" while
they take pictures on the balcony in their room...

More "making the boys wait downstairs"

Kaori, the photographer takes some snaps on the hotel ground. Gene is narrating.

We take a limo ride to the beach for the ceremony and more wedding photos!

Camera-Wars! Kaori's is bigger, so she wins.

Yukkiin'it up in the limo

Although less fun, we have to admit the limo is just a bit more comfortable than a motorcycle.

Shaka!

Cheeky monkey! You bum toucher, you!

Kaori, hard at work. Jerome and Lisa, working it.

Happy couple and Manana Island in the background.

Jerome: Always a bridesmaid, never a bride...

Chris, the minister, is sharing a few laughs with the bride and groom

With Billy, the Hawaiain guitar player. This guy had a great voice! He kinda looks like John Locke, though. He pulled me aside later and told me, "It is the island's will for them to be married"...

:)

Ladies mugging for the camera

Paparazzi! Kaori with Richard, the videographer.

I stole Billy's guitar. No no, that's the name of the song I played during
the wedding ceremony: "I stole Billy's guitar (while he gently weeps)"

Yo! Check out the bling!

Behind the scenes: What goes into making a beautiful wedding photo

I am playing the part of the back-up wedding photographer. Will take photos in return for surfing lessons.

I got my camera taken away for getting in the way of the professionals. Here I am on a time-out...

Wedding photos on the beach only require formalwear from the ankles up...

Kaori stalking her prey

Jerome and Lisa treated us to a fabulous dinner at Le Mer, the fancy French restaurant at the Halekulani. Yes, I took this picture, and yes, I am rather proud of the way it turned out! I do boudoir and bar mitzvahs too, if any of you are interested...

Want attention and countless "congratulations"? Take a walk through downtown Honolulu
in your wedding dress. I'm going to do the same thing tomorrow night!
